The Tree Fund is an option for those required to plant new street trees by the Department of Buildings (DOB), but cannot plant on-site (in front of their property), wish to obtain a permanent Certificate of Occupancy outside of Parks’ two approved planting seasons, or would otherwise want NYC Parks to plant the required trees on their behalf.

 
This process allows us to prune a portion of the street trees in each community board every year. We do not take routine clearance pruning requests, but requests to prune for public safety are accepted via our tree service request system (or call 311) for conditions including: Damaged and/or dead limbs.
